Why does my baby or child need to see a Chiropractor?
Chiropractic care is an effective and powerful way for parents to heal their children naturally from common childhood issues without potentially dangerous medications.Even the most natural pregnancies and births can cause the infant to have physical stress on their spines and nervous system, not to mention a birth with interventions like forceps, vacuum extraction or cesarean section. When the nervous system is irritated by spinal and cranial misalignment's, the following infant health complaints may show up:
- Sleeping Difficulties
- Ear Infections
Since significant spinal irritation can occur during pregnancy or a birth, many people choose to have their infants checked soon after birth to help prevent the health complaints listed above. It is also very important to have the infant checked at major milestones such as lifting the head, rolling over, sitting, crawling, standing, and walking since spinal alignment plays a huge role in these.
Older children should be checked throughout childhood due to the regular physical stressors on the body that occur such as sports, falls, wearing a back pack, playground activities, and sitting all day in the classroom. Some common childhood health complaints that may show up when the nervous system is irritated by spinal and cranial misalignments are:
- AllergiesSensory Processing Disorder (SPD)
- Behavioral Issues
- Learning Disabilities
Is Chiropractic safe for children?
YES, chiropractic is completely safe, GENTLE and effective! A pediatric adjustment uses the amount of pressure you would use to check a ripe tomato. Dr. Zaroff takes her time with each child and parent to fully explain her analysis and answers any questions before she preforms the first adjustment.
